Three Things a Christian Must Do in 2005

Happy New Year! May God's promises be fulfilled in your life this year!

The year begins with sadness in the face of tragedy and world events, but also with hope in the Lord. It is a year to draw closer to Him (see the article below, Three Things a Christian Must Do in 2005).

As you consider the things you wish to do, please pray for God's direction concerning a potential contribution to aid the Asian tsunami disaster victims (Tsunami), and the ministries offering disaster relief. Are we really stingy in the "wealthy" nations when it comes to relief? Read the article below (Are We Really Stingy?)—a commentary that looks at the facts from a different perspective. But be encouraged. If you want to see what happens when God's love touches people through Christians, read Faith Eases Triplet Troubles.

Also, we have to mention the article, Is Hell for Real? It's certainly not a topic we like to talk about, but talking about it is critical, especially in the context of salvation. See Hell's Best Kept Secret. This audio sermon has received rave reviews from visitors.

Finally, stay informed! See what our political and Christian leaders are saying concerning the potential redefinition of marriage. Visit the Marriage page and check out the dozen new articles there.

Blessings in Christ,

Is Hell for Real?
Jesus mentioned the topic of hell and eternal punishment much more frequently in Scripture than He did heaven. Why do we hear it taught so little from the pulpit?

Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events"
Even though the world appears evil, if we look hard enough, we will discover there is much more good than bad in it. This film merits a four, out of five-star rating.

I Now Pronounce You "Partners"
In the name of tolerance, the words 'spouse' and 'husband' and 'wife' are increasingly excluded from our lexicon, to be replaced by the sterile and meaningless language of 'partnership.'
