Going to the Extreme

Life is an adventure that can take us to the extreme!

Some adventures, like extreme sports that involve speed, height, danger, and spectacular stunts, require deliberate death-defying risks (see the article Going to the Extreme). Other adventures are not our making at all. They just happen, and God intervenes. They become adventures with God, tailor-made in heaven (see "He Will Give His Angels Charge over Thee").

This week we have the story of a tailor-made adventure-in-progress about a Montreal family that responded to God's prompting to give a home to a three-and-a-half-year-old Vietnamese girl severely disfigured at birth by her father who left her to die (see Baby's Rescue a "Whirlwind" of Miracles). We go on these adventures because Jesus said in serving those who are poor and needy, we are serving Him. God will use us when we respond, but we have to make the decision to go (see Diving In).

Here's another story about youth in the Vancouver area who want to be radical for Jesus. They have launched a church with the median age of 16-18, and they're doing great—reaching the community, going on missions, and growing in the Lord (see The Emerging Young Church).

How awesome to live life beyond the mundane in vibrant response to God! How do we, with our responsibilities and daily pressures, break free to dive in, respond—go to the extreme? We make time for Him (see Clearing Space, Paying Attention, Being Connected)!

Be blessed!
