Documentary Examines Canada's Destiny
The seeds for a significant spiritual awakening were sown in Canada centuries ago. See what Christian leaders believe could happen when revival touches the land once again.

Does God have dominion over Canada from sea to sea, like the Scripture verse embedded in the stone of Parliament's Peace Tower proclaims?

Documentary Examines Canada's Destiny

A documentary examining Canada's potential role in a future revival, From the River to the Ends of the Earth is scheduled to premier at the Toronto Centre for the Arts on November 12th, 2005. The documentary, a two-year project by producer Marney Blom for the Acts News Network, takes the viewer on a captivating journey through the land of Canada, its history, and its future.

Couched in the breathtaking visuals of the Canadian landscape from the Rockies to the Maritimes and into the Arctic, From the River to the Ends of the Earth researches both past and present events for clues to Canada's future. From the First Nations, to the founding fathers, the documentary unearths a destiny of unprecedented spiritual awakening.

Precedents exist for such claims. From the River to the Ends of the Earth captures the stories of Canada's historical spiritual awakenings giving a taste of what can happen when revival sweeps a community. Eyewitnesses describe how revivals transform lives, mend relationships, heal and restore marriages, and reduce crime in communities.

Historically revivals born in Canada have quickly spread abroad with profound global implications. Numerous spiritual leaders such as Rev. Dr. Alistair Petrie, Rev. David Yonggi Cho, and Dr. David Demian, point to signs that God is again positioning Canada for an awakening of significant magnitude that could revitalize the country spiritually, socially and economically. "God is going to change the economy of Canada," states Dr. Cindy Jacobs, an internationally recognized Christian leader. "One day Canada will be so blessed that she will lend to many nations and not borrow."

"All the historical factors that preface an authentic revival [are] now at work in Canada … on an increasing basis … . I believe I will see this nation come into national revival," says Rev. Dr. Alistair Petrie, Executive Director, of Partnership MInistries.

According to producer Marney Blom, the intention of Acts News Network is to premiere the documentary in Toronto and then show it in theatres across Canada. "This is good news for all Canadians, not just the Church. Showing it in theatres will make the message more accessible to all. Most Canadians have no idea of the magnitude of this nation's destiny."

"He shall have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth" (Psalm 72:8) is the Scripture verse from which the Fathers of Confederation drew the name "Dominion of Canada." Could it be a prophetic declaration?

The documentary's premier, a gala event at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, 5040 Yonge Street, will take place Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, at $29, are available in advance through Ticket Master, (416) 872-1111, and at the door.
