Million Dollar Baby
vs. Schiavo Case

In a comparison of the movie to Terri Schiavo's case, the dissimilarities outstrip the similarities.

Thank you for the Christianity.ca e-zine.

The film is about a woman who has a dream …

You mentioned that the movie Million Dollar Baby is about assisted suicide. While an incident of assisted suicide does occur in the film, it is not the subject of the film. The film is about a woman who has a dream and works hard to overcome her circumstances, with the help of two friends.

One of the poignant points in the tragic case of Terri Schaivo is that she did not have a living will. Ms. Schaivo's husband said that he knew that she would not want to be kept alive. In the case of Maggie, the protagonist in Million Dollar Baby, she certainly did make her wishes known.
